Enhancements to WA data for the Live Supply & Demand widget have been completed. WA data has been reinstated.

The outage was taken to upgrade data resources. This was mentioned in WA data temporarily removed from live supply demand widget.

The enhancements include:

Updated mappings for fuel type categories.
Enhanced temporal resolution (data now at 5-minute granularity, in line with dispatch).
Values represent the sum of end-of-interval targets for all dispatched generators in the dispatch solution.

We became aware of need to improve the generation by fuel type data on the Live Supply & Demand widget for WA on 11 July 2024.

To act on this need we stopped the display of WA data on the widget and will resume display when the appropriate changes have been made.

The outage to WA data on the widget is taken to improve the temporal granularity of the generation by fuel type data – to move to a more comprehensive data source where each 5-minute interval can be captured.

The WEM transitioned to 5-minute dispatch and subsequent changes to public data released by the market operator as part of the transition and new operation of the market necessicitated this update to the Live Supply & Demand widget.
