We have a number of clients who choose to augment the display provided in NEM-Watch with the display of some Custom Data.
Since 2002, we have facilitated this approach by incorporating in NEM-Watch the ability to automatically read in and display Custom Data, which might be any of the following:
(a) For a generator (this is the most common example) you might want to also show your generation output and/or capability.
(b) For another market participant, you might want to show some summary trading statistics for your current position in the market.
(c) For a network company, you may want to show information about utilisation of your own network.
(d) For an energy user, you might want to show details of the consumption on your own site.
(e) There are bound to be other possible uses specific to your circumstance. We’d be happy to talk these through with you…
Configuring Custom Data
If you look in your Program Files/global-roam/NEM-Watch directory (where you installed NEM-Watch), you will find a “Sample.csv” file that shows you the required format of the custom data file.
Also included in this file is a specification of how you can format the display of the Custom Data – in both the Custom Data tile and the chart in “Market History”.
When running, NEM-Watch will periodically check this file for new data and refresh the display with this new data, as it is available. Hence, you will need to arrange for this file to be automatically updated with your required data at whatever interval the data becomes updated.
Custom Data Tile
The custom data tile is displayed by default. You may turn it off in the “Custom Data” section of the “Options” menu.
This tile will display the custom data in the format you have designed for it.
