Using alarms to stay informed

NEM-Watch offers the benefit of alerting you to changes in the market through the powerful alarms system. There are two types of alarms built into NEM-Watch, local alarms and SMS alarms. Local alarms are triggered by the copy of NEM-Watch running on your PC. SMS alarms are triggered from a remote server and do not require NEM-Watch to be running to trigger.

  • Local Alarms
Local alarms are a powerful way of staying informed on market changes. There are some new changes and additions to the local alarms in NEM-Watch version 8.

    • Graphical alerts
The most basic style of alarm, graphical alarms display a flashing "Alarms" button on the NEM-Watch interface when triggered. These are a useful way of staying informed of less important changes in the market.
    • Sound effect alarms
Sounds are a great way to stay in touch with the market changes. We have also included the ability to loop the sound effects, just to make sure you do not miss important alerts (which will only stop when you press the "Alarms" button)!
    • Email alarms
An excellent way of keeping yourself and others informed of important events is the Email Alarm. This alarm will automatically email you with the data which triggered the alarm, keeping you completely up to date with the market. For Silver and Gold users, we have added the ability to include a screenshot of NEM-Watch as an attachment, meaning you get the added bonus of having a snapshot of the NEM at the time of the alarm!
    • Program alarms
For Gold users only, this powerful type of alarm allows you to trigger ANY program on the local PC when an alarm goes off. Want to calculate something when the market reaches a particular point, simply point this alarm to a calculator program!
  • SMS Alarms
The most advanced and reliable alarm, SMS alarms give you the power to stay informed wherever you are. Only available to gold users, SMS alarms uses data sourced from the most reliable data stream from NEMMCO. The alarm interface is internet based, and all processing is done on dedicated servers so that you do not even need NEM-Watch running for the Alarms to trigger.
