Map

The map provides a geographic display of key market data.

Price

A price box for each region displays the price corresponding to the currently selected commodity and interval. The price box is on a colour scale to indicate the severity of the price, with blue being low and red being high.

The price box also displays the cumulative price of the selected commodity if NEM-Watch has enough history. Note: the cumulative price does not incorporate price revisions.

Price boxes can be dragged to any location on the screen.

Demand

The demand for each region is displayed inside the region. Each region is on a colour scale to indicate the severity of demand, with blue being low and red being high.

Temperature

Temperature points appear as colour-coded squares on the map. Further detail can be obtained by mousing-over the temperature point, or clicking on the temperature point to permanantly display details.

Dam Levels

Dam levels appear on the map as rectangles indicating the water level. Further detail can be obtained by mousing-over the dam point, or clicking on the dam point to permanantly display details.

Interconnectors

Each interconnector is represented by two circles, linked by a white line. When electricity is flowing, arrows will move in the direction of transmission.

These arrows and the writing in the information panel will turn red if the interconnectors are constrained. The information panel shows the rate of transmission flow across the interconnector. Underneath this it shows the import and export constraints (respectively). Note that all flow in the NEM is from a Tasmania-centric point of view. Flow away from Tasmania (i.e. flow North or West) is positive, while flow East or South is considered negative flow.
